The Early Childhood Classroom Assistant Teacher (ECCAT) concentration is designed for those students who are interested in working in pre-school or elementary school environments as a teacher assistant. Students will learn how to use foundational knowledge of subject matter to prepare effective instruction. Time will also be spent learning to identify the needed resources to carry-out an instructional plan. 150 hours of field experience will be spent working with young children in an elementary school setting.
Second year job placement through the Career & Work Skills Training program is possible. This program meets the requirements to receive a teacher's assistant certification through WV Department of Education.
